A Day with PeaceWorks

We do a great job assessing the needs of survivors seeking our services and providing resources to meet their needs. It may be getting a survivor to another state, assisting with pet needs,  being a listening ear, supporting a survivor in court or medical accompaniment, to finding housing or repairing a vehicle, employment support, reading to a child, education, sharing a meal over a heavy conversation and always safety planning.

PeaceWorks’ staff and volunteers go above and beyond. Late night intakes, long hours in the mini van, mouse traps and bears, playing with the dogs and cats, yard work, shelter maintenance, ongoing training, laughter and tears. At the end of the day we know we had a small part in life changing events and that we are able to make a difference in the lives of those we have contact with.

Our team requires continuous communication and team work to remain unified in our services. We laugh together- find humor even when things are rough. We are flexible to meet survivors’ needs and the same goes for our PeaceWorks’ team.

We have a shared value of supporting one another in this tough, sometime exhausting field, which serves our survivors and one another well. We are a diverse group and have developed some great relationships, mutual respect and relationships within the community…and we have some exciting things planned to expand services that we look forward to sharing with you all.
